Background
The Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme is a local government district with borough status in Staffordshire, England. It is named after its main settlement, Newcastle-under-Lyme, where the council is based, but includes the town of Kidsgrove, the villages of Silverdale and Keele, and the rural area surrounding Audley. Most of the borough is part of The Potteries Urban Area.

The Challenge
The Council were in possession of an enormous archive of over 33,000 planning files going back to 1974. These required scanning and indexing for subsequent upload into an Anite EDRM system.

The Solution
We collected batches of approximately 4000 files over a 12 month period. All 33,000 scanned files were returned to the Borough Council for checking and auditing purposes. Their internal quality assurance procedures did not identify any concerns or errors.
